History
The Istituto di Moda Burgo is a school at 100% made in Italy, which became a guarantee of quality and uniqueness in a city like Milan, where many fashion schools were sold to foreign partners. Style, methodology and Italian passion that the Institute has exported in many fashion schools abroad, as in Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia, Jordan, Armenia, Peru, Egypt, Brazil, Albania, Kosovo, Qatar and can also count collaborations with public and private universities and fashion schools in countries such as Japan, China, Austria, Singapore, New Zealand, Romania and many others…
The Institute was founded by the publisher Fernando Burgo in 1961. His long and thriving experience in the area of fashion has proven to be successfully. His commitment to share in his knowledge with each and every student interested in fashion is the result of 50 years of experience in the fashion industry. His direction enables the students to be in touch with the fashion world and all opportunities of training and work the fashion industry has to offer.
The school equipment consists of books and rulers, and has been patented by the Istituto di Moda Burgo. It’s provided free to all students.
Among all there are two books, Il Modellismo and Il Figurino. They in fact are born thanks to the experience accumulated over the years and several previous editions. These manuals are considered cornerstones of teaching and are the pride of the Institute. The texts are constantly updated by industry experts and represent the best that you can find on the market. The study programs contained therein are modern, complete and exclusive. They deal with all matters relating to the sector: from fashion design to the practical realization of the dress.
The books are bilingual (Italian and English).
The work carried out by Fernando Burgo with the Burgo Fashion Institute was awarded with Ambrogino d’Oro 2014 (Civic Merit of Milan) because thanks to him our Fashion Institute, with offices throughout Italy and in numerous foreign countries, teaches the fundamentals of stylistic creation and tailoring to thousands of students all over the world, creating jobs and giving prestige to a record of Milan. In a market situation that is progressively expanding towards foreign countries, the Burgo Fashion Institute offers the opportunity to acquire and/or perfect technical, artistic and professional skills, thus improving one’s professionalism, both in the corporate and private fields. Establishing courses and secondments all over the world. The latest successes come from Malaysia (2019), Qatar (2020) and Romania (2021). We have been present for many years in: Egypt with the decision of the Egyptian Ministry of Technology, after a selection of 200 fashion schools in the world, to give the direction of the Fashion Design Center and the style study to the Burgo Mexico Fashion Institute with the first Italian fashion school: IMB by Loren’s.
